There are so many people who enjoy ministering to multitudes and they think that is ministry. Well, yes that has its own place in ministry but truth be told, the most powerful ministry is ONE TO ONE ministry.
If you cannot communicate to an individual you cannot communicate to the masses. If you cannot change an individual's life with your ministry, you cannot change the masses. If you do not have compassion for one soul, you cannot have compassion for the masses. People who love the pulpit in comparison to One-to-one ministry, are usually proud.
Some preachers only accept invitations to preach in Churches where the membership is in thousands; this is very wrong. If you can't sacrifice to travel to minister to one person only then you really haven't learnt what ministry is.
The power of ministry lies in the ability to love and to minister to an individual.
Do not forget that the masses are made up of individuals.
LUKE 15:4 -5
"Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders"
"He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching EVERYONE with all wisdom, so that we may present EVERYONE fully mature in Christ. "
Our responsibility as servants of God is to present EVERYONE fully mature in Christ. Therefore our Job as servants of the Lord is not only to preach Charismatically, but mainly our job is to minister to the individual so that at the end of it all, we can present that person as FULLY MATURE in Christ before the Lord. Church is family. Everyone counts. Everyone matters. That is why it is important for the Church (especially churches with big memberships) to establish small groups (cells) in which the members and leaders of the Church can interact with one another on a personal level.
An estimate (statistics) of what keeps most people glued/fixed to a particular church
1. Relationship and Rapport: 45%
2. The ministration of The Word: 30%
3.Praise and worship: 25%
Work on RELATIONSHIPs in the Church. A man who does not care for relationships has no ministry.
CHURCH GROWTH IS SIMPLY NEW RELATIONSHIPS.
New people bring new ideas. Do not get me wrong, I'm not saying that you have to abandon your old relationships, No. You just have to keep adding new relationships as you go on in life. You need a big heart to accommodate various types of people with a primary mission of making Christ known to them.
How many new relationships have you added to your life in the past 2 years whom you have ministered Christ to? Friends, I know that ministering to the masses is elating but bare in mind that the reward for One to One ministry is GREAT. I pray that the Lord will give you a heart for one to one ministry
You never know what they will become tomorrow
